Cronaca del gemellaggio 2009 in Inghilterra
Norwich is a modern city with its famous modern university of East Anglia and the glass-fronted Forum building, but at the same time it is a medieval city that offers lots of beautiful historic buildings such as the two beautiful cathedrals, the Norman castle, the cobbled streets like Elm hill, narrow alleys, the outdoor market stalls with its multicoloured roofs and much more. The school was situated in the centre of the historic city of Norwich. The course lasted one week. Lessons took place in the morning. The aim was to help students to improve their English through music, films and street surveys. In the afternoons students went out for activities previously arranged by the school such as the orientation tour of Norwich, treasure hunt, a half-day excursion to Somerleyton Hall and Gardens and a half-day excursion to the Sainsbury Centre. In the evenings students went to disco, bowling and strolling through the city……with their teachers of course! Teachers as well wanted to have fun! We also went out for a full day excursion to Cambridge and London. Two wonderful and vibrant cities. Other students of different nationalities took part to these excursions. This proved to be a bright spot because they were given the opportunity to make new friendships and to compare different cultures. Students stayed, in pair, in selected and nice host families, having many opportunities to practice their English. They received full board accommodation. Other students of different nationalities were staying with the same host family. They all had lovely time! It’s worthwhile doing such an amazing experience.
